OpenAI released GPT-5.4 on March 5, 2026. Frontman added it for direct OpenAI connections and offered GPT-5.4 and GPT-5.4 Pro through OpenRouter. This page records that release, not the current model picker.
September 2026 availability update
OpenAI retired GPT-5.4 and GPT-5.4 Mini from Codex with ChatGPT sign-in on August 31, 2026. Frontman no longer offers them through that connection. OpenAI recommends GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna where your account has access. See OpenAI’s retirement guidance.
The retirement does not apply to the OpenAI API. Frontman’s current OpenRouter catalog also differs from this original announcement. See Models & Providers for current options and the changelog for release history.
Capabilities and pricing
OpenAI’s release announcement and model reference describe GPT-5.4’s reasoning, coding, vision, and tool capabilities. Provider capabilities do not establish which tools Frontman exposes. See How the Agent Works for that boundary.
For API costs, use OpenAI’s current pricing or the OpenRouter model page. Prices and account availability can change independently of Frontman’s catalog.
