Terms of Use
Last updated: May 5, 2026
Provider and Scope
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the hosted Frontman service, website, applications, plugins, APIs, and related services provided under the Frontman brand.
Frontman is operated by Boilerplate Ventures UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Galenusstraße 63D, 13187 Berlin, Germany, registered with the commercial register of Amtsgericht Charlottenburg under HRB 273526 B, represented by its managing director Fridland Dimitri.
In these Terms, "Frontman", "we", "us", and "our" mean Boilerplate Ventures UG (haftungsbeschränkt). "Customer", "you", and "your" mean the business, organization, freelancer, or professional using the hosted Frontman service.
Business Customers Only
The hosted Frontman service is offered exclusively to entrepreneurs, freelancers, companies, public bodies, and other persons acting for commercial or independent professional purposes.
Consumers within the meaning of Section 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB) are not permitted to register for, purchase, or use paid hosted Frontman subscriptions. By creating an account, starting a trial, or purchasing a subscription, you confirm that you are acting exclusively for business, commercial, freelance, or professional purposes and not as a consumer.
Hosted Service and Open Source Software
Frontman includes hosted services operated by us and open-source software that can be self-hosted.
These Terms govern the hosted Frontman service, including hosted account access, hosted history, hosted orchestration, billing, and related support. Open-source code remains governed by its applicable open-source license. The client libraries and framework integrations are licensed under the Apache License 2.0, and the Frontman server is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, unless a different license is stated in the relevant repository file.
If these Terms conflict with an applicable open-source license for open-source code, the open-source license controls for that code. Hosted service access, hosted account functionality, billing, and support remain governed by these Terms.
Accounts
You must provide accurate and complete account, business, and billing information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You must notify us promptly at support@frontman.sh if you become aware of unauthorized account access or credential misuse.
Accounts are currently personal to the registered user. Team and organization features may be added later and may be subject to additional terms.
Trial, Subscription, and Billing
Frontman may offer a 7-day free trial for the hosted service. A valid payment method is required to start the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts into a paid monthly subscription.
Paid subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. Prices are shown in euros and are exclusive of VAT and other applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout. The current self-serve plan is EUR 20 per month plus applicable VAT or taxes.
You may cancel your subscription before the next renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period. You will retain access to the paid hosted service until the end of that billing period, unless your account is suspended or terminated earlier under these Terms.
Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law, where required by Stripe or Link payment terms, or where Stripe or Link issues a refund under Managed Payments transaction support rules.
Stripe Managed Payments
Paid subscriptions may be processed through Stripe Managed Payments. For eligible transactions, Stripe or its affiliate acts as merchant of record, and the customer may see the transaction as sold through Link.
Stripe or Link may handle payment collection, receipts, invoices, certain subscription communications, fraud prevention, disputes, transaction-level customer support, refunds, and applicable indirect tax compliance. You may also be able to manage payment methods, billing address, order history, and subscription cancellation through Link or Stripe-hosted interfaces.
Boilerplate Ventures UG (haftungsbeschränkt) remains the provider and operator of Frontman and remains responsible for product access, product-level support, hosted service operation, and these Terms. Where Stripe Managed Payments does not apply or does not assume responsibility for tax compliance in a jurisdiction, we may remain responsible for applicable tax obligations.
Service Description
Frontman is an agentic development tool for frontend software development. It can connect to your development environment, inspect runtime context such as DOM structure, component information, computed CSS, screenshots, logs, routes, source maps, build errors, and project files, and use that context to generate and apply source-code changes.
Frontman is intended for development workflows. Frontman does not deploy your code to production. You remain responsible for reviewing, testing, securing, committing, approving, and deploying any code changes.
Generated output and automatic edits may be incorrect, incomplete, insecure, incompatible, or unsuitable for your project. You are responsible for deciding whether to use, modify, revert, or deploy any output generated or applied through Frontman.
Customer Content and History
You retain ownership of your code, prompts, screenshots, logs, project data, files, generated output, and other content processed through Frontman ("Customer Content").
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, display, reproduce, and modify Customer Content only as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the hosted service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
Frontman stores conversation and task history as part of the hosted service until you delete it. If you delete history, it is deleted from active systems, but backup copies may retain deleted data for up to 3 months before automatic backup expiry.
We do not use Customer Content to train or fine-tune AI models.
AI Providers and Bring Your Own Key
Frontman uses a bring-your-own-key model. You choose and connect third-party AI providers, such as Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, or other supported providers, using your own credentials or provider-authorized connection.
When you use Frontman with a selected AI provider, Frontman sends prompts, instructions, code context, screenshots, logs, metadata, tool results, generated output, and other Customer Content to that provider as instructed by you and as necessary to provide the service.
You are responsible for selecting AI providers, reviewing their terms and privacy practices, and ensuring that you are permitted to send Customer Content to them. We do not control third-party AI providers, their models, their availability, their pricing, their security, or their use of data after transmission to them under your provider account or credentials.
API Keys and Credentials
API keys and provider credentials stored in the hosted service are encrypted server-side using application-level encryption. Access to decrypted credentials is restricted to authorized personnel and systems where necessary to provide, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, or support the service.
You are responsible for the accuracy, permissions, limits, cost controls, and continued validity of credentials you connect to Frontman. You are also responsible for charges imposed by third-party AI providers or other third-party services connected through your credentials.
Data Protection
Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Where we process personal data on behalf of a business customer as processor, our Data Processing Agreement applies.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Frontman complies with applicable data protection laws, including ensuring that you have a lawful basis and all required rights, notices, and permissions for Customer Content processed through Frontman and transmitted to your selected AI providers.
Acceptable Use
You must not use Frontman to:
- violate applicable law or third-party rights;
- upload, process, or transmit malware, exploit code, or intentionally harmful content except as part of legitimate, authorized security work in your own systems;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attack the service or its infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, data, or networks;
- bypass usage limits, billing controls, security controls, or access restrictions;
- reverse engineer hosted service functionality except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- use Frontman to build or train a competing hosted service by copying non-public service functionality;
- submit content that you are not authorized to process or transmit to us or to your selected AI providers.
Availability, Changes, and Support
We do not provide an uptime commitment or service-level agreement unless expressly agreed in a separate written contract. The service may be unavailable, interrupted, degraded, or changed from time to time due to maintenance, incidents, provider outages, security issues, infrastructure changes, or product changes.
Support is provided by email at support@frontman.sh. We do not guarantee any specific support response or resolution time.
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or replace service features. For material changes that negatively affect paid hosted subscriptions, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or restrict access to the hosted service if we reasonably believe that:
- you have breached these Terms;
- your use creates security, legal, operational, or third-party risk;
- payment fails or billing information is invalid;
- suspension is required by law, Stripe, Link, an infrastructure provider, or another service provider;
- your account or credentials appear compromised.
Either party may terminate the contractual relationship for cause if the other party materially breaches these Terms and fails to remedy the breach within a reasonable period after notice, unless immediate termination is justified.
After termination, your right to access the hosted service ends. You remain responsible for fees incurred before termination. Customer Content may remain stored until deleted by you or until account deletion functionality or retention workflows remove it, subject to backup retention.
Intellectual Property
We and our licensors retain all rights in Frontman, the hosted service, software, trademarks, logos, website content, documentation, and other materials, except for Customer Content and open-source software rights granted under applicable open-source licenses.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the hosted service for your internal business purposes during your subscription period.
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use them without restriction or compensation.
Warranty
The hosted service is provided without any specific guarantee of availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, security outcome, code quality, or error-free operation.
Statutory warranty rights apply only to the extent they cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. For business customers, warranty claims are subject to applicable statutory inspection, notice, and limitation requirements.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, under the German Product Liability Act, for fraudulently concealed defects, and under any guarantee expressly given by us.
For simple negligence, we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations whose fulfillment enables proper performance of the contract and on whose compliance you regularly rely. In that case, our liability is limited to typical and foreseeable damages.
Except as stated above, liability for simple negligence is excluded. The same limitations apply to our legal representatives, employees, agents, and subcontractors.
You are responsible for backups, code review, testing, security review, deployment decisions, compliance review, and provider selection. We are not liable for production incidents, data loss, security vulnerabilities, third-party provider charges, third-party AI output, or deployment consequences to the extent caused by your failure to review, test, secure, back up, or control your own systems and workflows.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website or by other reasonable means.
For existing paid subscriptions, material changes that negatively affect you will take effect no earlier than 30 days after notice unless a shorter period is required by law or necessary for security, legal, or operational reasons. If you do not agree to material changes, you may cancel your subscription before the changes take effect.
Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
If you are a merchant, legal entity under public law, or special fund under public law, the exclusive venue for disputes arising from or relating to these Terms is Berlin, Germany, to the extent permitted by law.

Final Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be replaced by applicable statutory law.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it later.
